SPONSORSHIPS
Stan Holt has been a long time drag racing participant and enthusiast. His passion for the sport has led to competing in their “Chick With a Stick” car at multiple regional and national races.
As the enjoyment for the sport flourished, the Holts joined forces with now professional pro stock driver, Erica Enders. Erica is a Houston native and frequent guest at The Original Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurants.
In 2016, the Holts officially joined with the legendary first lady of drag racing, Shirley Muldowney, as an official sponsor and supporter for “Shirley’s Kids“.
Shirley’s Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity created to help children in need. Because our namesake, four-time world champion Shirley Muldowney, has lived her life in drag racing, our organization first seeks out deserving children within the drag racing community. Recipients may be struggling with medical issues or financial hardships brought on by a personal or family tragedy. Because of corporate support, we proudly declare that 100 percent of all proceeds raised go directly to the designated children.
In March, 2016, they kicked off Shirley’s Kids charity by helping a Florida boy.
LUPE TORTILLA MEXICAN RESTAURANTS TO SPONSOR ENDERS-STEVENS IN HOUSTON: Lupe Tortilla, routinely voted the top Mexican restaurant in Texas, will assume title sponsorship of the record-setting Pro Stock race car of reigning NHRA Mello Yello world champion Erica Enders-Stevens at the upcoming O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals presented by Super Start Batteries at Royal Purple Raceway in Houston. Enders-Stevens is a Houston native who attended Spring-Cypress High School and Texas A&M University. She has been supported by Lupe Tortilla founder Stan Holt; his wife, Sheila; and their restaurants since she began her driving career at age 8.
“Stan has always been a part of racing and my personal life for as long as I can remember,” Enders-Stevens said. “He has always been there for me, and I consider him and Sheila part of my family. Stan even performed the wedding ceremony when Richie and I got married.” [ARTICLE LINK]
